The Celtic squad will enjoy a rare festive break this season after being granted time away from training on Christmas Day…

The reigning Scottish Premiership holders are next in action on 27 December, when they face Livingston, allowing the squad a brief pause during the holiday period.
Traditionally, the club’s packed winter schedule has left little room for celebration, with Boxing Day fixtures often requiring preparation and training on Christmas Day. However, this year the calendar has worked in the players’ favour.

With the day free, Nancy is expected to use the opportunity to be with family and close friends before competitive duties resume.
Speaking via Celtic’s official YouTube channel, Nancy said: “I cannot change everything! We’ll see in the future. But this is something that we did with all my previous teams, yes. But now, there’s also too much information and too much stress. So I have to find my battle!”
Elsewhere in football, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola went viral this week having confirmed a similar approach, revealing that his players will have Christmas Day off before returning to training on Boxing Day, when fitness levels will be closely monitored.

With all of his previous coaching experience coming in the United States with CF Montreal and Columbus Crew, Nancy is encountering the demands of an intense festive fixture list for the first time in his career.
“Everything is new,” he said. “So, Christmas time, usually it’s off, family time and so on. And now, no. So that’s why I was a bit lost two hours ago because I was thinking that we were off!”
“I love it. I love it because when I was in France or Europe or United States, I was so happy to wake up because of the jet lag and to watch games.”
“And now I’m going to be part of that. I’m really excited by that. And it’s new, but I like it.”
