Club Brugge showing their class. They must be respected…
Our next Champions League opponents Club Brugge warmed up for their trip to Celtic Park on Wednesday by beating Sint Truidense 7-1 in the Belgian Pro-League.
Some supporters may underestimate the Belgian side, but for me they will prove to be just as tough a nut to crack as RB Leipzig, and we will have to put in the same amount of effort we did against the Bundesliga side if we are to be as successful against the Belgian Champions.
That isn’t based on their free scoring performance yesterday, but rather their form over the season which sees them sit in second place in the Belgian league and 22nd in the champions league only a point behind ourselves.
They are unbeaten in their last six game in which they have scored a total of 19 goals and conceded only 4. They of course beat Aston Villa in their last Champions League outing, so we have to give them the greatest respect as they prepare to travel to Glasgow.
I’m confident we can beat Brugge, especially if we play as well and put in the same amount of effort as we did against RB Leipzig, but they must be respected. if we treat them lightly we will most likely end up with a bloody nose.
It’s going to be an incredible evening at Celtic Park on Wednesday night and as always the Celtic support can have a massive influence in the outcome of a game that means so much to both sides. After our taking four points from the tough Atalanta and RB Leipzig matches Celtic will be looking to capitalise on that with a win against Belgium’s Champions.
What a great position we’ll be in if that can be achieved. Let’s do it Bhoys!
COYBIG and remember let’s make some Noise for the Bhoys!
