CNN feature Gary Hooper during American Presidential Election coverage

CNN claim that more people around the world receive their news than from any other outlet and tonight their global audience, who were tuned in for the close run US Presidential Election, were treated to an image of ex-Celtic striker Gary Hooper. The Englishman was pictured shooting versus Motherwell in 2011 and the American broadcaster included the match image in a segment about iconic sporting moments.

Tiger Woods’ Masters win as well as Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls basketball ‘threepeat’ were amongst the other images used in the segment that was sandwiched between the race for the White House. Hooper’s overhead kick, which was at a capacity Celtic Park, was briefly on screen as viewers patiently wait to see who will be the next leader of the Free World. Incumbent President Donald J Trump or the former Vice President Joe Biden are currently waiting to see how the voting in some battleground states will go – with votes still being counted.

Ironically, it is Democrat candidate, Biden that leads the race to become the 46th President and his codename is ‘Celtic’. This is likely owing to his Irish heritage, tracing his roots back to the Emerald Isle. It would be nice to see Celtic in the White House..
