As expected the Scottish FA has responded to the disgraceful scenes at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon after Celtic won the Scottish Cup quarter-final against the Rangers in a penalty shoot-out at Ibrox…

Celtic supporters spilled on the park in and around the Broomloan Road stand where just under 8000 Celtic supporters were situated to celebrate with players, with selfies and the like being taken.
Meanwhile at the Copland Road end an anger gang of masked thugs invaded the pitch running the length of the park looking for trouble. Stewards were assaulted, a Celtic staff member was attack – not for the first time in recent seasons, bottles were thrown and a missile was projected into the Celtic supporters in the Broomloan Road stand.

One Celtic supporter was assaulted by the masked maurandering mob and an image from this assault was later in the day turned into a t-short design with the proceeds apparently going to fund legal costs for their gang who go by the name of Union Bears for any charges that they may face as a result of their actions after losing the cup-tie to Celtic.

The Scottish FA released a short statement on their official website this evening. It reads as follows:
Quarter-Final Update – Thursday 12 March 2026

‘The Scottish FA can confirm that the Compliance Officer is collating evidence from the weekend’s derby match at Ibrox Stadium. Any alleged breaches will be notified to relevant parties in line with the Judicial Panel Protocol.
‘Furthermore, following discussions with relevant stakeholders, the Scottish FA will commission an independent review of the matchday safety and security operations for this Scottish Gas Scottish Cup Quarter-Final fixture. This review will seek to provide recommendations for all parties to ensure no repeat of the events that have tarnished the image and reputation of the game.’
The Ibrox club has also released a statement and we’ll look at that next. Celtic meanwhile has responded by issuing a new clothing range.
