Confirmed – Celtic face Dingwall test in League Cup defence

Celtic have been drawn to face Ross County in Dingwall in the second round of the League Cup. Following Aberdeen’s win over Raith Rovers today, Ange Postecoglou and his team discovered who they would face in their defence of the Premier Sports Cup.

It means that the Celtic support will need to travel to the Highlands on the 30th or 31st of August and you’d imagine it’ll be shown by the broadcaster.

It means that the supporters face the trek to the Highlands twice next month with a game on the 6th of August in the league.

Celtic only faced County once in Dingwal last year, winning in dramatic circumstances as the ten men rallied. Tony Ralston headered in a Tom Rogic cross to seal three points and really set down a marker. The manager had a fairly limited squad at his disposal and the team found a way. It was a sign of what was to come last season and it will be a challenge at this early juncture in the season that the players will relish.

The draw in full:

Ross County v Celtic
Annan Athletic v Aberdeen
Patrick Thistle v Arbroath
Livingston v Dundee United
Dundee v Falkirk
Hearts v Killie
Motherwell v Inverness
theRangers v Queen of the South
