CELTIC will be a Pot 1 team in the Europa League after results went their way on Thursday night. AEK Athens dealt Celtic a huge favour with a 94th minute winner which confirmed that Celtic would be in the top seeded pot tomorrow as the draw takes place.

It looked highly unlikely that results would fall to allow Neil Lennon’s side to go into the top seeding pot, results went their way on Thursday night.
Sporting Lisbon’s 4-1 defeat to LASK along with Basel and Viktoria Plzen defeats meant that Celtic were looking to the result in Athens and the Greek side delivered in the 94th minute.
Furthermore, Rangers result over Galatasaray means that a Scottish team could have an automatic group stage place in the Champions League confirmed. Along with this, Steven Gerrard’s side qualifying for the Europa League means that they will have the same amount of games as us – which can only be a good thing in the hunt for 10IAR.
