Confirmed – dates set for crucial postponed clashes

Celtic will face Aberdeen at Celtic Park on February 17 in the re-scheduled fixture from August. The Scottish Champions will host Derek McInnes’ side on the Wednesday evening, kicking off at 7pm. They will also face St Mirren at Celtic Park on Wednesday March 3, with the game kicking off at 7:45pm.

Celtic have three games in hand and this is the first fixture that needs played out so that Celtic can claw the difference back against Rangers in the hunt for the Premiership title. The third game, away to Livingston, has already been rescheduled for January 20.

The game in August was postponed after the Scottish Government punished the teams for COVID-19 breaches. A number of Aberdeen players tested positive after going out in Aberdeen city centre after the defeat to Rangers on the opening day. Bolingoli of Celtic broke the rules by travelling to Spain and failing to self-isolate on his return.

Celtic will now host Aberdeen twice in ten days, playing the Pittodrie outfit on February 27 as well. These three games are must wins for Celtic as they need to claw back the difference against Rangers if they are to win 10IAR.
