A Celtic return for Nicolas Kuhn? It’s a no for me. It’s time we looked forward not backwards…

Former Celtic star Nicolas Kuhn has been having a difficult time at Serie A side Como, the side he decided to join in the summer for a fee believed to be £16 million after a serious of impressive displays in the green and white hoops.

This has naturally led to rumblings of a quick fire return to Glasgow, and it’s a rumour that’s led to split opinions amongst the Celtic support.

For me, It’s a firm no, as I guess it will be for the biggest percentage of supporters. I liked Nicolas when he was a Celtic player, and admired him for the way he pushed himself to a level no one believed he was truly capable of when he first joined the club from Rapid Wien in 2024.
The German was a terrific player who possessed great pace, and had a knack of scoring vital goals, and not just domestically, but on the European stage also.
Nicolas undoubtedly improved as a footballer under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers, which led to his big money move to Italy, but like a lot of players who use Celtic as a platform to bigger things, their not long in finding out that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

According to reports, Nicolas is available at a ‘cut down’ price, and what that fee may be is entirely up for debate, but to hazard a guess I’d say around the £8 million mark, which is still a relatively big fee for our club.
That sort of cash would be better invested elsewhere, and preferably on someone who’s been scouted rather than yet another name who’s known to us.
We’ve witnessed some lazy scouting in the past couple of years, with the return of Jota, and the failed bid for Kyogo. We don’t need to be looking back, time to look forward under a new manager with his own ideas and his own signings.
