Craig Bellamy Reveals Postecoglou’s Anderlecht Option, As Vincent Kompany Wanted Celtic Boss On His Coaching Staff

Craig Bellamy has revealed that Anderlecht manager Vincent Kompany wanted to recruit Ange Postecoglou to his coaching staff, while the Australian was in charge of Yokohama F. Marinos.

Bellamy first met Kompany when he became his teammate at Manchester City. He then spent two years as the Premier League legend’s assistant in Belgium.

Speaking to The Central Club podcast, Bellamy said that Kompany goes out of his way to keep up to date on everything that is happening in the wider football world.

The former Celtic loan star then spoke specifically about his former club, as he stated:

“He’s (Kompany) so forward-thinking and he wants to know everything. He’s wondering what’s going on here, what’s going on in Japan there.

“They’ve (Japan) got this coach there (Postecoglou), look at what he’s doing here. He ended up going to Celtic.

“He wanted to bring him in with us. He’s ahead of the game.”
