“Currently one of the most entertaining sides in European football,” football analyst praises Celtic

Since 19 September Celtic have lost just two games, both of them to Bayer Leverkusen – not a bad record for any team, never mind one expected to be in a season of transition.

However, ally that to the incredible attacking football Celtic have progressively and now consistently delivered during that time and it’s fair to say it is not just Celtic supporters who now enjoy sitting down to watch the Hoops play this brand of football.

And according to Australian football analyst and writer Petar Petrov, Celtic are not simply the most pleasing on the eye performers in the Scottish Premiership, they are also one on the most entertaining teams to watch in Europe on current form.

“Go and watch Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic, they are currently one of the most entertaining sides in European football! You can thank me later.

Brilliant coach and man-manager! This Celtic team is going straight to the top! And it should be taken under consideration that the team was in major crisis when Ange took over. This is basically a new squad which has to settle while playing a game every three days, which means just 2-3 real training sessions a week.

Rogic has been reborn under Ange, back to his very best – Can’t say I’ve seen as much of Celtic as you have, but the atmosphere against Rangers and the whole feeling about the team at the moment really is something else!”

Petar is quite right, Celtic are not only playing scintillating football there is also a connect between the manager, the players and the support that has built a real momentum around the club. This social media clip from Fir Park after the game as the players left the field and made their way to the away dressing room is a fantastic watch and it sums up just where Celtic are as a collective and what is fostering that confidence Celtic take onto the pitch in any given game.

There are times you look to a fixture list with trepidation, the challenging visit to Tynecastle, a tough trip to Fir Park, a Glasgow Derby, or a midweek trip to Aberdeen, but at this moment in time, tough games as these ties may well be, you simply look forward to watching Celtic play.

And the connection between the players and the support fostered by Ange Postecloglou, as you can see by the manager’s grin at the end of the clip, is a big part of that, but mostly now you feel little fear around games, instead you just look forward to watching Glasgow Celtic putting on a show.

As a Bellshill Bhoy I was taken to my first Celtic game in the summer of 1987. It was Billy McNeill’s return to Celtic Park as manager and Celtic lost 5-1 to Arsenal . I thought I was a jinx, I think my Grandfather might have thought the same. It was the finest gift anyone ever gave me when he walked me through Parkhead's gates.
