Cyprus v Scotland: team news, KO time and where to watch

Celtic skipper Callum McGregor will be in action for Scotland tonight as Steve Clarke’s side looks to take a step towards qualification for the Euros with a win over Cyprus. After four games, Scotland sit on top of the group ahead of Spain and Norway with four wins but will know that Cyprus could unravel the good feeling by pulling off a shock result.

There will be as many as 5000 Scotland fans in the stadium as they look to take another step towards playing tournament football in Germany this summer.

Team News

Scotland go into this camp in a fine run of form and with a pretty settled squad. Goalkeeper Liam Kelly and Newcastle midfielder Elliot Anderson were forced to leave the camp after picking up injuries with Robbie McCrorie replacing the Motherwell captain.

Expect Angus Gunn to start. The Norwich City goalkeeper has been a calming influence since being brought in and has made the No.1 role his own.

In terms of the back three, Clarke likes to use Ryan Porteous, Jack Hendry and Kieran Tierney. All three are available and will likely all start in Cyprus.

CalMac will start in the middle with Scott McTominay and John McGinn. There is a question as to whether Brighton’s Billy Gilmour comes in and McGinn gets pushed up one but Clarke will likely be cautious.

Predicted XI: Gunn; Hickey, Porteous, Hendry, Tierney, Robertson; McGregor, McGinn, McTominay; Christie, Adams.

Full Squad: Gunn, Clark, McCrorie; Hendry, Hickey, McKenna, Paterson, Porteous, Robertson, Souttar, Tierney; Armstrong, Gilmour, Ferguson, Jack, McGinn, McGregor, McLean, McTominay; Adams, Christie, Dykes, Nisbet & Shankland.
