Daizen Maeda breaks silence on injury, positive update

Celtic attacker Daizen Maeda has taken to social media to provide a positive update on his injury. Maeda missed the victory over Hearts in the Scottish Cup on Saturday and he tweeted wishing thanks for the messages but also that he was ‘ready to fight’.

Maeda was forced off following the equalising goal against Hearts last week. The Japanese forward completed a fine move by Celtic, firing in from a Kyogo cross but colliding with Zander Clark as he did so. It was brave play by the attacker but he was substituted shortly afterward when he went down again.

Ange said ahead of the game at Tynecastle that Maeda was 50/50 but he missed out in the win over Robbie Neilson’s team. It is a positive update for Celtic as another attacker bolsters Ange’s team on their treble hunt. The player is expected to continue his rehab and rejoin the first team training. Celtic have one more game before the International break with Hibernian visiting Paradise next weekend.
