Daizen Maeda recognised for stunning February form

Celtic attacker Daizen Maeda has been named the William Hill Premiership Player of the Month for his excellent form in February. Daizen has become Celtic’s talisman after Kyogo Furuhashi departed for Rennes at the end of the winter window and he has shown his class.

Maeda scored six goals and assisted twice in the Scottish Premiership as well as scoring an assisting against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League. In the Scottish Cup, Daizen netted a hat-trick against Raith Rovers as Celtic look to retain the trophy this season and complete a treble.

Maeda will be one of the frontrunners for the Player of the Year accolade given his sensational form. The versatility that Maeda offers is remarkable but, perhaps more remarkable, is his ability to press for 90+ minutes. The player is a remarkable athlete and has developed his game under Rodgers’ management. The club will be keen to sign Maeda onto a long term contract, given his importance to the club.
