After the madness of the weekend links with three recruits from the Japanese league, Japan Times journalist, Dan Orlowitz spoke to Sky Sports to give his take on the very strong links that broke over the weekend and as we reported at that time.
Orlowitz, who was a big advocate of Ange Postecoglou and Kyogo Furuhashi coming to Scotland from the J-League was on hand to give a breakdown of the links to the three players and the possibilities of them ending up in Glasgow.

Daizen Maeda: €2m (Daily Sports), €1.5 million rent-and-sign (Sponichi)
Reo Hatate: €1.5m (Hochi)
Yosuke Ideguchi: "not free" (Daily)
Daily also reports all three on contract through at least 2022.

The American was assured in his belief that the stories are founded upon safe sources and insisted Ange could be looking at taking all three to Celtic this January transfer window. He did, however, mention that nobody would be coming on the cheap as has always been the case with Japanese players.
Japan he admitted has been a happy hunting ground for some time for European clubs and they know there is major value in that part of the world. Although this may be the case, Orlowitz has insisted that Japan’s football clubs are demanding more for there talents these days and evidenced Kyogo Furuhashi’s £5 million move to Paradise as an example of this.

He also pointed to the fact that two of the linked players, Maeda and Hatate are both included in the J-League team of the season. Maeda finished joint top scorer and Hatate has been in exceptional form for his club, Kawaski Frontale. The journalist claimed anything less than £2.5-3 million for either talent would be daylight robbery and J-League clubs are also aware the impact Kyogo has made since his arrival in Europe.

On Ideguchi, he conceded that he is slightly surprised by the link but that Ange might feel he can resurrect the industrious midfielder’s career in the SPFL. If anything, it would be a low risk-hugh reward signing adding strength and depth to the Celtic squad.
