Delight as Alistair Johnston spotted back in training

Alistair Johnston was spotted taking part in a training session this morning as the players prepared for the trip to Kilmarnock on Sunday.

Of course, the Canadian international won’t be a part of the squad for the League Cup clash as he’s just started back after an injury lay off, but it’s a big boost all the same. AJ is a quality player. Strong and athletic with a wonderful turn of pace, he’s the ultimate modern full back.

It was a blow when Josip Juranovic left, but Alistair has made us forget all about him such has his form been.

Tony Ralston gives his all in the role, but in all honesty he’s just a back up that’s all. Alistair is the main man at right back and to see him back raring to go is great news.

He most likely won’t be ready for a couple of weeks, but should hopefully be fit for the important clash at Ibrox at the start of September. The Champions League is also approaching us and having a fully fit Alistair Johnston available will benefit us greatly as we aim to compete on the biggest stage of all.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
