The Bhoys secure their place in the next round of the Scottish Cup at the expense of McInnes and his men, prompting the ex-Rangers player to have a pop at the goal Rodgers’ team scored.

Moaning and complaining

Being gracious in defeat isn’t something that comes with anyone usually associated with the Ibrox club (old or new), and it was obvious from this interview with the national broadcaster, BBC Scotland, that he was never going to give us any kudos for winning that tie.

The man who works theRangers games for TNT Sport when they play in the Europa League was clearly in no mood for congratulating the Hoops without a caveat.

Sounded “churlish”

Despite admitting the fact whilst complaining about Celtic’s goal that it sounded “churlish”, as his team were battered in a first half flurry that should have seen his opponents at least three goals ahead, McInnes couldn’t help himself and so bemoaned not only that Celtic shouldn’t have had a free-kick, but that we took it from the wrong area and it gave us an unfair advantage!

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.

  1. It wouldn’t be Derek McInnes if he didn’t complain about something.
He won’t complain about the handball pass inside the Celtic six yard box which led to his team’s goal of course.
But he will find something ficticious that happened 75 yards from his goal line before Maeda scored!
    Deflection maybe? 🤔
