Dermot Desmond was unexpectedly at Paradise either yesterday or earlier in the week as the Irish tycoon was pictured with Ange Postecoglou. The major shareholder of the Scottish Champions was pictured speaking to the Australian manager in the lobby at Celtic Park along with Ross Desmond.
With four games remaining for Ange and the team and a Treble on the line, there is plenty to play for in the next few weeks. However, the surprise meeting has fans questioning whether the appearance relates to a discussion with the manager relating to a long-term contract.
Ange Postecoglou was appointed on a one-year rolling contract and there were suggestions last season that the club would award the boss with a long-term contract. Although, this hasn’t been forthcoming thus far as Celtic have gone from strength to strength under the former Yokohama F Marinos manager.
Celtic have won four trophies in two seasons under Ange with the possibility of a fifth next month. The performances in Europe showed real progress and the manager, the Celtic Board, the fans and players will be looking forward to next season and another crack at Europe’s Elite.
Ange used to be manager at Yokohama FM, subsidiary of City Group, and we can know about influence of Pep’s style on Ange, if focuse on common points of their styles. Pep highly valued Ange’s style in 2019 pre-season match, and Ange must have also got something from today’s match. pic.twitter.com/LMfCAYcQio

With Ange Postecoglou attracting constant interest from Premier League teams, Celtic can reward the manager for the contribution that he has made since arriving in the summer of 2021. Following the win over Hearts, Ange was emotional about the club, the sacrifices and all that has been achieved thus far.
🗣️ “The whole club really embraced me from day one”

Hopefully, Desmond’s appearance coincides with a post-season announcement that the manager of the Scottish Champions is being rewarded with a new deal long term deal with Ange Postecoglou happy to commit his longer term future in football management to Celtic.
Morning Gossip: Ange on loan Bhoys “The guys will all need some sort of clarity moving forward. We will look at them all on an individual basis. We’ll get to that when the time is right.” Also, is Dermot Desmond about to tie down our leader to a long-term contract? I hope so. HH pic.twitter.com/Ggy7ZWnOwn

Hopefully the Desmond family will stay in Glasgow for the weekend where a record breaking number of Celtic fans will attend matches and hopefully on Saturday celebrate not just the title that Ange Postecoglou has already won but hopefully a first ever league title on Sunday for the exciting Celtic FC Women side managed by Fran Alonso.
With Dermot Desmond at the game on Sunday he’ll get the chance to see the full potential for Celtic in women’s football not only in Scotland but in the Champions League. A win on Sunday GUARANTEES Celtic FC Women a place in the Champions League next season and unless Glasgow City can win at Ibrox, the double title win is very much on for Celtic.
If Glasgow City win or draw at Ibrox that will mean that theRangers will miss out on Champions League football next season – they simply have to win. And they also know that while the have a goal difference advantage on Celtic of +1 going into the games, they must outscore Celtic to deliver their own title dream.
Celtic FC Women are playing Hearts who aren’t on the same level as the other three title chasing teams and have nothing to play for. They will park the bus but Celtic recently beat them 6-0 and that’s what the Celtic fans will be wanting to see on Sunday afternoon and Fran Alonso’s team will not let them down.
Maybe Fran will be getting a new contract too!
But what weekend this could be 60,000 there in Saturday to Hail the Champions of Scotland, news of a new deal for the manager and a long term commitment from Ange Postecoglou to Celtic then the Ghirls qualifying for the Champions League on Sunday and very probably ending the day as Champions – tickets for that one are FREE to season tickets via the official Celtic website and it’s going to be packed with the Celtic End already sold out. Be there if you can, you will NOT regret it!
Glasgow city will get cheated something awful at Snake Mountain. Just like the our Ghirls were when they played that other team.
Wonder if there’s a heidbutt coming?
