The Croatian champions are winless in their last five matches and have only won five from 13 games since the arrival of under-fire boss Nenad Bjelica.

The last time Zagreb won a competitive outing at the Maksimir was 28 September in a comprehensive 5-1 league victory over NK Lokomotiva.

Following an underwhelming 1-1 draw with midtable side Slaven on Friday evening, Celtic’s opponents tomorrow night currently sit 3rd in the HNL, six points off the top two Rijeka and Hadjuk Split.

Luckily for Bjelica’s men, Hadjuk Split passed up the opportunity to go nine clear at the foot of the table after they were shockingly beaten 1-0 by HNK Gorica over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Dinamo Zagreb have been hit with double injury blow heading into their huge encounter with Celtic in Matchday 6 of the Champions League group phase. Defender Raul Torrente and skipper Arijan Ademi both had to be substituted in the opening 20 minutes of their draw with Slaven three days ago.

Subsequent of fan displeasure, Dinamo Zagreb released a statement to their supporters as a result of a sequence of dreadful performances domestically.

The  Dinamo Zagreb statement as posted on the club’s official website:

“The game against Slaven showed we are in a crisis of results which has largely been influenced by injuries to the most high-quality of our first-team players.

“But there is no crisis within the club. We have funds for the next transfer window. For us, the window has already opened in the search for reinforcements in the agreed positions. We will work our way out of this results crisis and return to winning ways.

“Surrender is not an option in Dinamo’s DNA. Just like in previous seasons, we will get out of our present difficulties together with your support.”
