There’s been plenty of talk about Scott Brown potentially moving on after this season, and things have moved fairly quickly after Stephen Glass was announced as the Aberdeen manager last night.
It always felt like Broony had the potential to go into coaching and it was widely assumed that he would do that with Celtic, but the current managerial situation makes that harder.
A new coach will generally want to bring in their own staff so that would make it tough for Brown, while he will still have playing ambitions and that’s another area where the new manager might decide to go in a different direction.
It’s a move that will surprise a few fans, but Aberdeen have confirmed that Broony has signed a deal to become a player/coach at the club next season:
📝 Our history-making captain, Scott Brown will leave Paradise at the end of the season.
Thanks for the unprecedented success @ScottBrown8 🍀🏆

It’s going to be tough and weird to watch him in another team’s jersey, but it’s also a big opportunity for him and at least it makes it easier for Celtic and the new manager when it comes to deciding what to do with him going forward.
He’ll always be a Celtic legend after 14 seasons, over 600 appearances and 22 major trophies, and here’s hoping he might find his way back as a manager himself one day.
