Dundee United v Celtic – John Beaton to referee Scottish Cup Quarter Final

The SFA have confirmed that John Beaton will referee Monday night’s Scottish Cup Quarter Final between Dundee United and Celtic. Ange Postecoglou’s side are looking to regain the trophy that they lost last season to St Johnstone following four consecutive victories in Scotland’s oldest competition.

The referee will be joined by Assistant Referees Graeme Stewart and Daniel McFarlane with Andrew Dallas acting as Fourth Official.

Beaton last officiated Celtic’s 4-0 win away to Motherwell having taken the 2-1 win at Tynecastle a few weeks before.

The game at Tannadice will kick off at 7:45pm (Celtic Park time) and will be shown on Premier Sports. There has been a scramble for tickets as United decided to slash Celtic’s allocation, which has resulted in an attempt by the home side to desperately try to sell their tickets.

Celtic have won two of the three games against United this season, winning 3-0 in the only game that has taken place in the City of Discovery so far. The performance levels in that game were exceptional and the manager will hope that the impressive win over Livingston is just a taster of what is to come from his team in the run-in until the end of the season.
