Dundee v Celtic: SFA confirm refereeing appointments

The SFA have confirmed the referees for this weekend’s game at Dens Park as Celtic take on James McPake’s Dundee. Celtic will first travel to Budapest to face Ferencvaros in the Europa League but they will return and face a trip to the City of Discovery as they return to Premiership action.

Referee Alan Muir has been handed the whistle for the game and he will be assisted by David McGeachie and Ross Macleod with Colin Steven operating as Fourth Official.

Celtic slipped up and drew at home to Livingston at the weekend, spurning the chance to go top. Livi were compact and you would expect the same from Dundee, who are battling to climb the table.

Ange’s team will be fully focused on the Europa League fixture in Hungary with the game potentially sealing Europa Conference League football after Christmas. After the 2-0 win last month, Celtic are 3 points ahead of the hosts but they will want to get a result so that their progression is in their own hands.

Celtic have suffered from a number of poor decisions over the course of the season so far. Some have left fans longing for the implementation of VAR as crucial decisions appear to be missed. With that said, Celtic need to put games out of sight so that the decisions cannot influence the course of the match but that is easier said than done.
