Romano broke the news a week or so ago that Celtic were in negotiations with Rubin Kazan to sign the Swedish defender and it now looks like this has been agreed with Celtic paying a transfer fee of €5m for the player who looks like being the replacement for want away Norwegian defender Kris Ajer.
The signing deadline for the Champions League match against FC Midtjylland on Tuesday night is tomorrow so Celtic will undoubtedly be racing against the clock to get this deal done to allow Starfelt to start agains the Danes.
Romano was asked about Kris Ajer’s situation at Celtic after breaking his exclusive on Starfelt signing for Celtic. He was asked: “What about their centre-back Kristoffer Ajer? Will he stay or are they listening to bids?” and the reply: “I think he’ll leave!”
