Elyounoussi’s Scotland admission

MOI ELYOUNOUSSI is on international duty with Norway after his hat-trick heroics with Celtic on Sunday. However, he will be watching on as Scotland face Norway’s Euro 2020 conquerers, Serbia. Elyounoussi’s national side were beaten at home thanks to a Milinkovic-Savic brace. Despite his own heartache, Elyounoussi has admitted that he thinks Scotland are up against it in the game.

As reported by the Daily Record, Elyounoussi says that the Serbs are favourite for the game but the one-legged nature of the fixture may flatten the playing field in Belgrade.

“Can Scotland win? Anything can happen because it is a playoff final. I think Serbia has a lot of experience and I would have to say that they are the favourites to get to the Euros.

“But Scotland are looking strong at the moment and they are on a very good run of form at the moment. So anything can happen. I would be so happy for Callum, Ryan and everyone if Scotland can win and go to the Euros.”

“I will have the opportunity to watch the game and I will be cheering Scotland on.”

Elyounoussi, who plays Israel with Norway in a pointless friendly, will be watching his Celtic teammates in action as they look to end a 22-year-wait for a major tournament appearance. The attacker will use his own experiences against the Serbs to let his Celtic teammates know who to target or mark.

“I will give my teammates like Callum and Ryan that information on Serbia. It will be a tough match because Serbia are a very good team and they have some great players, some very talented individuals.

“But we will give that info away to my team-mates.”
