The Celtic Fans Collective responded to today’s 3-1 defeat against theRangers at Celtic Park, issuing a statement calling for the removal of Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson and CFO Chris McKay plus the manager they appointed Wilfried Nancy…

The statement reads as follows:

“Today’s pathetic collapse in the derby match is a culmination of the complacency, arrogance and incompetence of the Celtic board.

“Wilfried Nancy is not equipped to be Celtic manager and should be removed from his position. However, those responsible for hiring him, degrading the playing squad and attacking supporters must shoulder the blame for the mess we are in on the park, and the massive disconnect between the fans and club off it.

“It is also impossible to separate the board’s arrogance from the man who empowers it. Dermot Desmond remains largely absent, yet retains the decisive power, and his narrow mindedness and lack of ambition for Celtic, coupled with a seeming disdain for its supporters, has helped lead us to this point.

“Removing the manager is only part of the solution. Systemic change is required if the club is to be united and successful. It has been proven beyond any doubt that Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay are unfit for their roles as CEO and CFO respectively.

“The support must work to force these people from their positions and fight to ensure that any custodians of our club are made accountable to ordinary fans.

“We will reach out to our constituent members in the coming days to escalate our campaign. SACK THE BOARD.”

The Celtic Fans Collective is likely to meet in the coming days to discuss next steps as tensions continue to escalate. Protests outside of the front door after the final whistle were reminiscent of the COVID season, while there were tensions in the lower front stand at the the centre directly below the Director’s Box and at the corner next to the Jock Stein stand as it appeared that supporters were trying to cross into the main stand presumably to direct their protects towards the Board.

Troubling times at Celtic and it seems that Wilfried Nancy, remarkably is going to be backed, for now anyway.

theRangers are now level on points with Celtic and both are six points behind Hearts with all three teams having played 20 games with 18 to go. Motherwell are only two points behind the Glasgow sides and alongside Hibs will have strong European aspirations for next season.

Celtic meanwhile have forced out a hugely successful manager, locked out supporters indefinitely who have paid for their season tickets, banned fan media for daring to ask some questions, and have created a toxic atmosphere at the club. The Celtic supporters are sick of it and sick of the Celtic Board. Nicholson has shown himself to be an extremely poor leader while his judgement in appointing Nancy as manager has been a spectacular flop. As a club Celtic can do much better than Nicholson and his sidekick Chris McKay.

The absolute state of the Celtic squad – with Johnny Kenny and Shin Yamada as our only strikers a year after selling talisman Kyogo – is a disgrace and that also falls at Nicholson’s door.

It’s time to go Michael, and take your pal Chris and your flop of a manager with you.

  1. Only an absentee landlord will decide what happens at Celtic. Dictator Desmond rules. The board are inept, incompetent and toothless.Would not let nancy manage a pub team.

  2. “Sack the Board ” chants will do nothing to influence the Celtic Board—–Similar protests have been conveniently ignored by ARROGENT Celtic Boards in the past, so nothing will change now . The only way to influence the Board is to hit Board members in the POCKET and threaten their position on the Board by buying-up their share holding .
If the CELTIC COLLECTIVE are serious about wresting power from some of the non-entities on the Celtic Board they should seriously consider the following example :-
There are approx. 60K present season ticket holders and supposedly a waiting list of about 20k . Ordinary shares in Celtic PLC at present are valued at £1.99 per share—–If 60k season ticket holders bought 100 shares each , this would cost approx. £240 (including commission charges) per share holder . These shares refundable , at any time , could be held in a TRUST FUND . the accumulated value would be approx. £1.5 MILLION ( YES , £1.5 MILLION POUNDS) .
Examining the share holdings of several of the present Board members —-This would enable the CELTIC COLLECTIVE to offer several of these members ” A price they couldn’t refuse” for their holdings and the Collective could then , at least, demand a seat on the Board thus giving the fans an influence on how the club should be run . This type of scheme would NOT be too difficult to organise and is the only hope for fans to get rid of the arrogant clowns , who at present are going to drive our great club into oblivion .
