Celtic will need to await the outcome of this week’s European matches to find out which Scottish Cup Quarter Final slot they are given. Wins over Alloa and Raith Rovers resulted in Paul Slane picking Ange Postecoglou’s side to visit Tannadice. The game against Tam Courts’ United will prove to be a tough fixture but fans will have to wait until Friday until confirmation is received for the dates.
Dundee United updated fans to say that the Euro fate of Celtic will be the basis upon which dates are decided. Their rivals Dundee FC, who will face Rangers, have revealed that they were given two potential kick-offs given that both Celtic and Rangers are still in Europe as it stands. The Dee state that the two games will take place at either Sunday, March 13 at 4 pm or Monday, March 14 at 7.45 pm.
Given the proximity between Dens and Tannadice, it is not possible to play the games on the same day given the large traveling crowd. Both games have been selected by Premier Sports whilst BBC Scotland have picked up St Mirren v Hearts and Motherwell v Hibs.
The Celts are two goals down at the halfway stage of the Europa Conference League Play-Off against Bodø/Glimt. Celtic face the trip to the Arctic Circle later this week but will be fully aware of the task that they face against the Norwegian Champions.
