Everton and Tottenham stunned by Tierney’s £50million release clause

WELL the Kieran Tierney transfer story has moved on again this morning.

Everton, who have been considering a £25million bid for the Celtic Star are now set to try to find out how much Celtic want for the player.

However all they have to do in read the latest on the internet and they’ll see that Tottenham are considering their own bid for KT and it is for £40million.

Well KT would I suppose rather play for Tottenham than Everton as the former is in the Champions League and has a decent side while the latter is not an hasn’t.

And Peter Lawwell would rather bank £40million that £25million. £50million fee would be better still.

Let’s actually read the quotes from both Premier League clubs. Starting with Everton they have stated the following…

,” the Everton spokesperson said.

Which is exactly the same as Tottenham who have said the same as Manchester United and so on.

So is it made up nonsense? Yes and no.

Every side in England will have a scouting system that makes them very much aware of every player of interest. They will all know everything there is to know about KT and a little more too. They will know that he has signed a six year deal, they will know everything there is to know about his game, they will know that he will continue to develop under Brendan Rodgers, they will know the injuries that he has had, they will have watched the goals that he has scored. They will also have an idea of how much money he earns at Celtic, but that in itself is not a factor.

When Stuart Armstrong signed for Celtic his wages would have increased 5 or 6 times from the level he was on a Dundee United and the same thing would have happened when he moved to Southampton last week – while we got a mere £100 for the song!

Brendan Rodgers stated in Austria the other day that this would be the kind of pay rise Tierney would earn in England’s top league, so the huge extra earning potential is a given.

For Tierney he can stay at Celtic for now, develop further under Rodgers and then go to play at the very highest level in England or Spain. Tottenham is a move in the right direction for his advisors who know that they are not having to deal with a Celtic player but also a Celtic supporter.

KT has unfinished business at Celtic and they can write what they want about clubs considering making bids, but for now it would be hugely surprising if KT’s time at Celtic was nearing an end.

As for that £50million release clause, a Celtic spokesman told us about it, here is what he said…

,” the Celtic spokesman said. Seems pretty believable.
