Ex-Celt hero hits out at ‘Mr Lawwell’ after medal comments

FORMER CELT ALAN THOMPSON has hit out at Peter Lawwell on Twitter after discussing his medals. The left-sided midfielder, who coached at the club from 2010-2012, made a comment to his Twitter users regarding what to do with his medal collection and whether they would attract a price at auction.

This query invited replies ranging from offers and suggestions but Thommo took umbrage with one particular suggestions – to put the medals in the Boardroom at Celtic Park.

There appears to be some bad blood between Thompson and the Celtic Chief Executive following Thompson’s departure (either as a player or a coach) from the club. Whilst the ex-England International was enduring a tough time off the park, he was replaced as first team coach at Celtic.

Despite this, he still speaks very fondly of the club and us remembered for some screamers over the years. He should keep and cherish that medal haul as the Celtic support cherish the memories of the rocket of a left foot that he had. It is unclear what went down between Lawwell and Thompson but it is clear to see that Thommo isn’t forgetting anytime soon.
