Ex-Celt Steven Pressley inspires Dundee to Ibrox upset

Former Celtic defender Steven Pressley led his Dundee side to a 1-1 draw against Rangers at Ibrox. Elvis took a point from the evening meeting at Ibrox in a game in which the Dens Park outfit were disappointed not to return to the City of Discovery with all three points.

Ryan Astley scored in the second half as the visitors received their reward for their pressure, having hit the post twice in the first half. Rangers went down to ten men in the second half after Nasser Djiga was shown a straight red.

Rangers earned a point with a late penalty from James Tavernier but it was a soft penalty with the winger looking for contact. Rangers thought they’d won it but Dessers’ goal was ruled out for offside in injury time.

Celtic will be relishing the opportunity to play at Pittodrie tomorrow. Brendan Rodgers’ side can go five points ahead of their city rivals, which makes the late August meeting between the sides an exciting prospect.
