Celtic keen to keep Cummings
Celtic will be eager to keep Cummings at the club given the impressive form that he has exhibited with Stephen McManus’ B Team. However, the player will want a pathway to the first team and increased exposure to the first team. Brendan had him on the bench for the win over Ross County in Dingwall but the striker was not brought on, with Johnny Kenny being brought on ahead of him.

Kenny went away on loan to Shamrock Rovers to develop and the club will be considering whether to keep him or send him on another developmental loan. The same likely applies for Cummings if he signs a new deal; however, he may be captivated by the prospect of the English Premier League, even if his opportunities may be limited.
Celtic need to retain their best and brightest talents in light of interest from the Premier League and the best way to do this is to offer a pathway into the first team.

The Garden ‘Pathway’. He’s been exposed to the 1st team – they’re rubbish. The best way to retain him is to pick him, or is he scoring too many goals to displace our non-goalscoring centre-forwards?
