Fabrizio Romano is fast becoming a pantomime lighter for Celtic fans given that the news he reports on is seldom good for the Scottish Champions. Less than 24 hours after it was reported that Dominik Livakovic was a signing target for Brendan Rodgers’ side, the Italian journalist has delivered a disappointing update.
In a tweet on Saturday afternoon, Romano confirmed that Fenerbahce were closing in on a deal to sign the Croatian Internationalist. Dinamo Zagreb are reportedly keen to sell the player, who has a year remaining on his deal with the Croatian club.

Whilst the deal has not yet been concluded, it appears that the Croatian is set to agree to personal terms while the clubs draw nearer to an agreement with regards to the fee for the goalkeeper.
The Zagreb outfit are said to be willing to accept a £10m offer for their star player, who at 28 is still young for a goalkeeper. Celtic would need to submit a bid in the next day or so in order to potentially hijack a deal, with Villareal also still considering a move.
Joe Hart is Celtic’s No.1 and has a year remaining on his deal at the club. It is believed that Brendan Rodgers is interested in bringing in another goalkeeper, which may mean that Benjamin Siegrist’s time at the club is coming to an end.
