Fabrizio Romano Transfer Latest – English eyes on Liel Abada

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has this morning mentioned growing interest for numerous Premier League clubs in Liel Abada, Celtic’s man-of-the-match against Livingston last night in the 2-1 win that restores the Champions nine points lead at the top of the league looking down on theRangers.

“Premier League clubs are following Liel Abada for the future. Talented winger born in 2001, has scored 24 goals and also provided 13 assists in 18 months,” Romano reports, adding: “Celtic consider Abada as key player and they want to keep him at all costs, even if PL clubs are tracking him.”

It’s unlikely that Celtic would sell Liel Abada at this stage because he has much more developing to achieve as a Celtic player and that will also ensure that any cutie transfer fee is maximised.

Celtic opened negotiations with Abada’s agents just before the break for the World Cup with a view to improving his terms and also extending his contract. This was reported as an initiative that was also pertinent to Greek striker Giorgos Giakoumakis and since then we have had several media reports, seemingly coming from his new agent linking the player with a move away from Celtic in the January window.

Nothing similar has happened regarding Liel Abada, and that is something that should be appreciated. However there has been no further talk of this new deal progressing. Hopefully it’s getting sorted.

Abada was outstanding last night and was only denied a goal by the rather remarkable intervention of the ludge-VAR cowboys.

Here are the highlights from last night’s match…
