Despite the claims of mainstream media journalist Peter Martin, The Celtic Board decided to stick by under fire Wilfried Nancy – for now – despite the Frenchman losing his first four games as Celtic manager, and we ourselves have no other option but to do the same on Sunday as we back the team.

Yesterday Martin stated on X: “I am led to believe that discussions are now taking place with Wilfried Nancy and the Celtic board to end his two week reign as Celtic manager.”
Today he posted this on the same place: “Celtic confirm they are backing Wilfried Nancy and he remains the manager. Don’t hold your breath!

I still stand by my opinion that he should be dismissed, but I’m happy to be proven wrong, and believe me, I would love nothing better than to be made to look like a fool, and will happily apologise if he does indeed turn the tide, to become a success.
Nancy looks lost
It’s clear as day however, that the Frenchman hasn’t got the credentials to be Celtic manager. He looks lost, and his stubbornness and belief over his footballing principles and philosophy will swallow him alive in the goldfish bowl that is Glasgow, something he has vastly under-estimated.
I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt after his first two defeats, but last Sunday’s shambolic Premier Sports Cup final defeat by St Mirren followed by Wednesday’s lacklustre disgrace at Tannadice was the final straw and judging by the response from the travelling support he has lost the fanbase already.
Claims of training ground and dressing room disharmony have been growing, and whilst it could well be simply be nothing more than speculation, it’s something that is highly believable, something that is yet another indicator that Nancy’s position is unattainable.

After Peter Martin’s false flag, another mainstream media hack was talking about Stevie Woods leaving after a bust-up with Nancy who questioned his work with the Celtic goalkeepers. Rumour or reality who knows but is symptomatic of a wider unease that has been caused by the arrival of Nancy and also the timing of the appointment coupled with him insisting on imposing the new system for the players to trial in four huge games all of which he lost.
That for me is unforgivable.
Little faith in Nancy winning these games
Sunday sees us enter another run of difficult fixtures heading into the new year, with Aberdeen visiting Celtic Park, before difficult away trips to Livingston and Motherwell to negotiate before the year is out. There’s then the small matter of a Glasgow Derby at Paradise on 3rd January to contend with, a game that is now more vital than it should have been.

Sadly, I have zero faith in this manager or group of players playing his system picking up a win in any of these games. And that is a serious indictment of where we are as a club at this moment in time. We have yet to see Celtic completely a successful 90 mins under this rookie, who incidentally is apparently being paid a fraction of the wages Rodgers was on. They’ve turned every penny helps into not another penny and the tills in the Celtic Superstore, usually red hot on the last maatchday before Christmas will be uncharacteristically quiet this year.
You did that Michael.
It’s seriously a case of when and not If when to comes to Nancy being handed his marching orders. But sadly by then the damage will have already been done, and the board will blame it all on the supporters.
