Five More Years – Delight as Callum McGregor signs new Celtic deal

Celtic today announced that Callum McGregor has signed a new five-year deal with the club which will see him remain at Paradise until the summer of 2026.

The club captain, now 28, first joined the Youth Academy at the age of eight, and has made 338 appearances to date, scoring 54 goals. The first of those goals came on his competitive debut when he netted the only goal of the game against KR Reykjavík. He has won six league titles, four Scottish Cups and four League Cups, and was an integral part of Celtic’s historic Quadruple Treble success. He has also been capped 37 times for Scotland, scoring his first international goal in the recent European Championships.

The Celtic captain will be answering questions at a Celtic Fan media conference scheduled to start at 4pm and is currently answering questions from the mainstream media. More to follow on this great news this afternoon. Ange Postecoglou can now look to build his team around his inspirational captain who turned his back on the meg-bucks on offer in England to commit his entire playing career to Celtic.

By the time he’s done Callum McGregor will be rightly regarded as a Celtic legend. More to follow…

Fantastic news. Calum, Joe and Kyogo are the most important players in our team. We are really missing Callum and Kyogo as both are crucial to the way Ange wants us to play.

Under Ronnie , I never thought Callum had a future with us. Thankfully I was completely wrong.
