Former Celtic star Tony Watt named SPFL Player of the Month

FORMER CELTIC striker Tony Watt, the hero of THAT night on 2012, today was named as the Ladbrokes Player of the Month for the Scottish Premiership for August.

Watt has been starring with St Johnstone since signing up with Tommy Wright’s side in the summer. He has already netted 7 goals for the Saints and will have Celtic in his sights when we head up to Perth in a few weeks for the Betfred Cup quarter final.

Watt took to social media to express his delight at winning the award.

“Delighted to receive Ladbrokes player of the month from SPFL,” he posted.

“Told everyone when I play games then judge me. Best is STILL to come. 7/12 for the season and the boys are just starting at StJohnstone.”

Good to see Tony getting his career back on track. Hopefully we can keep him quiet on 26 September. Saints celebrity fan Stuart Cosgrove was among the many to congratulate the former Celtic star and loads of Celtic fans were happy to saw well done. Chris Sutton, himself a former Celtic striker, also said well done.
