Former Celtic winger not ready to retire as he looks for new club

Former Celtic winger Aiden McGeady is not ready to retire yet following his departure from Hibernian. McGeady made just fourteen appearances for Hibs and is available as a free agent this summer having been released by the Easter Road outfit.

Speaking to The Guardian, McGeady admitted that he realised he probably wasn’t able to continue to play at the top level whilst at Hibs but admitted he is keen to keep playing.

“I went to Hibs thinking: ‘I probably shouldn’t be playing at the top level in Scotland,’ but I knew last season when I was fit and training, I could still do what I wanted to do. I’m not as quick as I used to be over 40-50 yards but I can still get beyond people to get a cross or shot away. I’m proud of still being able to play.”
