Four Celtic stars named in PFA Team of the Year

Four Celtic players have been named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Season. Celtic skipper Callum McGregor, Matt O’Riley, Liam Scales and Cameron Carter-Vickers have been named in the team, which is voted for by the players.

Scales was on the periphery of the Celtic squad at the start of the season with a move to Aberdeen expected. However, the Irishman seized his opportunity when injuries ravaged Brendan Rodgers’ squad. The left-footed centre back has been a mainstay, providing solid performances at the back.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is the best defender in Scotland. The USA Internationalist has had injury problems this season; although, he has been solid and improved Celtic vastly when he’s been available.

CalMac has been his usual brilliant self this season, consistently showing his leadership qualities by bringing intensity to the team.

O’Riley will likely be the POTY. The Danish midfielder has been sublime under Brendan Rodgers – adding goals and assists to his game.

Full Team: Jack Butland (Rangers); James Tavernier (Rangers), Cameron Carter-Vickers (Celtic), Liam Scales (Celtic), Owen Beck (Dundee); Callum McGregor (Celtic), John Lundstram (Rangers), Matt O’Riley (Celtic); Bojan Miovski (Aberdeen), Theo Bair (Motherwell), Lawrence Shankland (Hearts).

Congratulations to the Celtic quartet. They will be hoping to pick up a Scottish Cup and Premiership in the final stages of the campaign.
