French Eddy again linked with move away, London team reportedly interested

It is no surprise to see Odsonne Edouard linked with yet another move away from Celtic Park this summer. In what feels like the most inevitable move of the summer, the Frenchman will more than likely be waiting in the wings for his desired move out of Glasgow this summer with a whole host of teams interested.

And, according to the Daily Star, Arsenal are the next team to register their interest in the top-scoring talisman – provided they sell Edouard’s countryman Alexandre Lacazette. Despite providing a relatively decent haul of 13 goals in the English Premier League this season, the Gunners have reportedly grown impatient with the man they signed four years ago from Lyon, with his Premier League tally not proving significant enough to warrant the £47million they spent on him in the summer of 2017.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang turning 32 this summer and having scored just ten league goals this season, Arsenal bosses will be looking to inject some youth into their core, with Edouard fitting the bill at the young age of just 23.

Edouard would seemingly be a good fit for the Emirates Stadium outfit; with an array of French speaking players including Lacazette, Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe and William Saliba all able to speak Edouard’s mother tongue, he would have no real problem fitting in down in London – alongside linking up with former Celtic hero Kieran Tierney.

However, a lot has to be said for his game time – Aubameyang and Lacazette won’t be moved easily, alongside young Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli returning from injury – and so Edouard may well be suited better at a team where he would gain game time; Celtic certainly provide that offer for him.
