IT’S CLYDE v CELTIC in the Scottish Cup today after the hosts confirmed that the match is ON. There were fears that the game would fall victim to Storm Ciara and a meeting was held this morning at Broadwood Stadium to assess the conditions.
Had the weather been too severe the game would have been postponed and played on Wednesday night, meaning that the Hearts game would have had to be postponed. That now though is not a concern as today’s game goes ahead as planned. We’ll be leaving shortly and will provide full coverage as usual on The Celtic Star – ‘we’ll be there to give the Bhoys a cheer!’ as the song soys.
“Today’s William Hill Scottish Cup match against Celtic will go ahead as planned, following checks and discussions with the relevant authorities this morning,” Clyde FC have confirmed.
The sun is shining at the moment and there’s not too much wind to worry about.

The game will kick-off a little later than the originally intended tome of 2pm. But just one minute later, and here’s the reason why…
#CelticFC is delighted to support the #HeadsUp mental health campaign at this Sunday's #ScottishCup match against @ClydeFC. We are also very proud of the work done by @FoundationCFC to raise awareness of this issue. #KickOffAConversation #YoullNeverTalkAlone 🍀 pic.twitter.com/TVAJnC5Ti9

Incidentally with Kilmarnock and Aberdeen drawing yesterday, does that mean that the replay will be on Wednesday night when Killie were due to host the Rangers? If that is its case we can go TEN points clear leaving them with two games in hand and we can all wait on fixture congestion complaints and calls to extend the season! We’ve been here before.
Meanwhile there were some very special Greek visitors to Celtic Park yesterday as Matt Corr has been explaining on Twitter. Have a look…
It was a pleasure to welcome two young fans of @AEK_FC_OFFICIAL to the tour @celticparkevent today and share the photo I took when we came through the turnstiles at the @CelticFC end in August 2018. The two clubs have many shared values apparently ☘️🇬🇷 pic.twitter.com/wZbOAOzER0

That’s brilliant to hear. I spent time with fans of all three big Athens clubs that week and had a great week. Funnily enough, they ban away fans at their domestic fixtures but they all seemed to have a soft spot for Celtic ☘️
