Ange Postecoglou was today named as Scottish Premiership Glen’s Manager of the Month from January and displayed some absolute class by being photographed with his award alongside coach Gavin Strachan, who you may recall was mysteriously missing* from a similar photo taken after the Celtic manager was names as Scottish Premiership Glen’s Manager of the for October.
*(He had a prior commitment).
Ange Postecoglou is a well deserved winner of this award for January after his side roared back from the Winter Break to turn around a six points deficit in the league to go to the top of the table for the first time under the Australian manager with that emphatic 3-0 win over previous leaders theRangers in midweek.
Celtic opened 2022 with a comfortable 2-0 win over Hibs at Celtic Park, won a tough battle at Tyencastle (2-1) and got the better of Dundee United at Celtic Park (1-0). The Hoops also progressed into the 5th round of the Scottish Cup with an away win at Alloa Athletic.
Next up is a trip to Fir Park on Sunday’s early kick-off as Ange Postecoglou looks to move four points clear of second placed theRangers who play Hearts later in the day at Ibrox.

Speaking about the latest award today the Celtic manager told the official Celtic website: “It’s nice for us to be recognised in this way and we thank the League for this award, but as always it is for us as a collective, including myself, my backroom team and the players.
“It’s a reflection really of the consistency we have all shown, with some great performances home and away in very testing matches. As well as our consistency, I have been pleased that we have been playing some exciting football, really the way I want our team to play and in a way which I hope is also attractive to our supporters.
“Obviously, we hope we can continue these levels but we are well aware of the tough challenges ahead.”
Love the way Ange always gets a mention of the supporters in, don’t you?
Colin Matthews, CEO of Glen’s owner the Loch Lomond Group, added: “Celtic have had another great month, with Ange Postecoglou leading his side through January undefeated, after starting the year off with a stellar 2-0 performance against Hibs.
“With Celtic now sitting top in the Premiership league table, Ange Postecoglou is a deserving winner of the Glen’s Manager of the Month award. Congratulations to him and his team.”
And well done to Gavin Strachan for helping Ange share the limelight today!
