Sportime Editor Giannis Chorianopoulos has updated fans on the Giorgos Giakoumakis to FC Midtjylland rumour. A report suggested that the Danish side were keen on bringing the Greek centre forward to their club but a source that has usually been spot on when it comes to Giakoumakis has said that the Superliga outfit cannot afford the 28-year-old.
❗️ FC Midtjylland at the moment cannot meet Celtic demands (€6-7m.) for Greece international striker Giorgos Giakoumakis. Interest first reported at @BTSporten 🟢@CelticFC #Celtic #CelticFC

The Danish side were said to be keen on the Greek Internationalist. However, with Chorianopoulos’ update, it appears that Celtic’s asking price will price them out of a move for the player.
Celtic are in the market for a striker as they look to bolster their options. It would be a real shame if a player of Giakoumakis’ quality were to swap Celtic Park for the 11,000-capacity stadium home to FC Midtjylland. There appears to be an issue with the agent and the club with regards to the players wages but he is still an excellent option and one that the club should keep around if the fee that the manager isn’t met.
In 55 appearances since moving from VVV-Venlo, Giakoumakis has scored 25 goals as well as assisting twice. His numbers are impressive and they have been slightly skewed due to his substitute appearances coming late in the game.
