‘Glasgow is Green and White’, Green Brigade release statement ahead of Scottish Cup Semi Final

North Curve Celtic have released a statement ahead of the Scottish Cup Semi Final against Rangers. The prominent supporters’ group confirmed that there would be no tifo but they asked the fans who have been lucky enough to get tickets for the game, to wear Hoops – scarves, shirts and banners.

There had been some speculation that Celtic had withheld tickets to Bhoys Celtic and the Green Brigade; however, the groups received their allocation for the Celtic End at Hampden earlier this week. It may be a case that this was on the basis that the Police and Football Authorities refusing to permit a display owing to the pyrotechnics used at the League Cup Final.

It was a colourful display, not just as the players came out but during the game and, in particular, through half time.

Celtic are chasing a Treble with Ange Postecoglou’s side facing a repeat of last season’s Scottish Cup Semi-Final. Rangers won in extra-time that day and the manager will be out for revenge as he looks to go one further. The other semi-final, between Falkirk and Inverness CT, will await the winners of the clash on April 30th.

  1. Pyros have no place at football events. My wife’s wheelchair was hit by one thrown during the legends game. If they were meant to be there then it could be organised by the club safely but that is not possible in fans hands.
