The Swedish central defender was signed in the summer of 2023 but failed to capitalise on first team appearances and found himself sidelined by Brendan.

As reported by Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, Lagerbielke has left Celtic’s pre season training camp to link up with Braga ahead of a £2m move.

Lagerbielke was signed on the recommendation of compatriot Carl Starfelt as a like-for-like replacement to slot in beside Cameron Carter-Vickers with Starfelt leaving for Celta Vigo.

The away defeat to Feyenoord sticks out as a turning point for the young defender, he was sent off in a game that Celtic appeared to have control, resulting in a defeat. After that, he fell out of the first team picture and despite his late winner in the reverse tie, the die was cast.

Justin de Haas is being targeted by Celtic as the manager looks to bring another central defender into the club. The Dutchman would likely compete with Liam Scales and Auston Trusty for the role beside CCV.
