Half time at Fir Park: Jota opens scoring after excellent assist from Tom Rogic

Celtic go into the break 1-0 ahead after Jota opened the scoring after a blistering counterattack at Fir Park. Portuguese winger Jota, who scored the winner at Pittodrie on our last league outing, scored the opener this afternoon with a powerful finish. Tom Rogic’s inch-perfect pass went into the path of Jota, who smashed his effort beyond Liam Kelly.

Celtic will be hoping to get a few more goals as Ange Postecoglou’s side look to mount a charge up the table. A win today would certainly help the confidence around the club that the Celts can cut the gap between themselves and the top of the table.

There was a considerable delay in proceedings after referee Willie Collum was forced from the field due to a calf injury. The fourth official, Chris Fordyce, replaced Collum and the game continued albeit with six additional minutes.

Celtic have been comfortable in this game with Joe Hart not having much to do. However, Motherwell look as if they can cause problems if they get beyond Celtic’s full backs. Postecoglou will want to get Kyogo involved more and this may involve shuffling the pack and calling upon his bench.

A big half coming for Celtic but it has been a promising start.
