Half-time: Celtic 2 Blackburn Rovers 1 – Early setback but Hoops roar back

Celtic suffered an early shot inside the first twenty seconds of the match against Blackburn Rovers this afternoon after an uncharacteristic loss of possession by the Celtic captain Callum McGregor just inside the Celtic half. Sam Gallagher’s low shot went under Joe Hart to give the English side the lead.

However after that it was all one way traffic with Celtic playing impressively with Jota and Abada the standouts.

And it was our superstar from Portugal who levelled the scoring, taking a bit of a sore one as his effort went in off the post. It was no more than Celtic deserved with the Blackburn goal having been battered since the opening set-back.

Then after Jota was fouled at the edge of the box David Turnbull cleverly shot underneath the jumping Blackburn wall to wrong foot the Blackburn keeper to give Celtic a well deserved lead.

Three Blackburn players have been booked yet referee Kevin Clancy has been astonishingly lenient as the Championship side resorted to rugby style challenges to try to halt the Celtic forwards.

Half-time score is Celtic 2 Blackburn Rovers 1 at a warm and sunny Celtic Park.
