Hammered – Celtic Dismiss Ntcham Clickbait

Celtic have moved to deny the rumour that Olivier Ntcham could be heading for David Moyes’ West Ham. French reports suggested that the 23-year-old was ‘in advanced talks’ with the Premier League club; however, the Scottish Sun are reporting that Celtic have denied this rumour.

Ntcham still has two-and-a-half years left on his deal at Celtic and it would take a big sum to convince Celtic to part with one of their midfield stars.

This afternoon ‘Ntcham’ is actually trending on Twitter in the UK.

The Frenchman, who appeared to be wanting to leave the club in the summer, was convinced to stay by Neil Lennon and now it is clear that the manager wants to keep him at the club amid the chase for a fourth consecutive treble. Porto, Lyon and Marseille were rumoured to be interested in the classy operator; however, he has dug in and become a mainstay in the Celtic team.

West Ham have themselves just signed Slavia Prague captain, the midfielder Tomas Soucek. Further highlighting how off the initial reports were.

Ntcham gave Celtic fans an unforgettable moment this season when he scored a late winner against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico to confirm Celtic’s place in the Europa League last 32.

Neil Lennon also confirmed at his Media Conference yesterday ahead of tonight’s Premiership match in Perth, that there would be no-one else leaving in this window.
