Hampden VAR snub proves Barry Robson was right to call out Dallas & Co

VAR snub proves Barry Robson was right, but don’t expect to hear about it in the SMSM outside of the Aberdeen papers..

Barry Robson caused a bit of a stir when he spoke out after seeing his Aberdeen side denied a win after conceding a late spot kick against theRangers at Pittodrie a few weeks ago.

Barry believed that although by the letter of the law it was the correct decision, he didn’t believe it would have been awarded at the other end, and he was proven right in the Dons League Cup final defeat against theRangers on Sunday.

Todd Cantrell grabbed a hold of a Dons players shirt at a corner, in the exact same manner as Connor Goldson was ‘impeded’ in the league clash that allowed James Tavernier the chance to score from the spot.

The outcome for Aberdeen? Nothing, nowt, not even a VAR check. So what did Andrew Dallas and Co see differently on Sunday that they did in the dying seconds of the clash at Pittodrie a few weeks earlier?

It was of course the wrong colour of shirt being fouled. Yes I’ve said it, it’s a bias towards the Ibrox club. What other explanation is there? Think about it, theRangers are one nil down in the dying minutes of the game and an incident is deemed worthy of a second look by the VAR team.

Then on Sunday a tight game in a highly contested final the same situation arises and it’s not even given a second look. It’s totally obvious. Barry Robson was accused of calling the integrity of the officials into question by both theRangers supporters and the media. Well Sunday’s decision not to award Aberdeen a spot kick just proves he was one hundred percent right.

Will an apology be issued to Barry? Aye right, there’s more chance of a penalty being awarded against theRangers!

Oh and this one wasn’t even checked by Andrew Dallas…

  1. No doubt about it —Aberdeen were the victims of pro -Rangers bias by Scottish Referees .
This has been going on since the professional game was established and regulated at the end of the Nineteenth Century . This is nothing new ; I am 77 years old and the joke every Saturday evening was ,” Who scored Ranger’s penalty this week ” ?
Scottish football is corrupt to the core . These are not isolated genuine mistakes , all of these incidents are preconceived , deliberate bias in favour of Sevco . No one is ever going to convince me that : – Robertson , Dallas & co. did not see the ” Shirt-pull incident” , because if they did not , every viewer in Europe and beyond did. Their sudden onset of ” Blindness”, becomes even more pertinent when you realise that Sevco were awarded a penalty for exactly the same offence by an Aberdeen player , days before this incident . So , “When is a shirt-pull in the box not a penalty” ? The answer is when a Ranger’s player is doing the pulling .
The corruption of these Officials becomes even more sinister when you examine the consequences of their actions :- Not only did Aberdeen not win a trophy but their manager , players and backroom staff lost their “Winning bonus” .They also lost the Financial reward which comes with the trophy . They also , potentially , lost a place in European competition next season and all the Financial rewards which accompany playing in Europe . So why are Aberdeen not shouting about this corruption from the rooftops ? The answer , as we all know , is that the majority of Aberdeen supporters are ” Rangers supporters without the bus fare” , whose allegiance might firstly be to Aberdeen but secondly to Rangers .
We , therefore , cannot expect teams like Aberdeen nor any other club , with the exception of Celtic , to put an end to this fiasco , once and for all . Celtic are the club , who , over the years have suffered most from bias by match Officials supported by higher echelons of Scottish Football . Do not expect the Celtic Board to take any action on this travesty because they realise that they would be ,” Killing the goose which lays the Golden Egg ” . Any statement they make regarding Rangers would ultimately effect Celtic’s takings at the turn-styles . This matter must therefore , be raised in a Legal manner by Celtic supporter Associations . This corruption must be brought into open court . There would be a cost but the exposure of this open bias by certain referees would be well worth the outlay . This corruption must be stopped and the only way do do it , is by Private prosecution against the individuals concerned . Criminalise them , put their crimes into the public arena . Show them up for the criminals , which they are and the corruption will soon stop . I rest my case .
