Happy birthday to two Celtic greats, Neil Lennon and Scott Brown

Today is the birthday of two former Celtic captains and legends of this wonderful football club. Neil Lennon who celebrates his 52nd birthday and Scott Brown his 38th.

Broony is the second most decorated skipper in our history just behind Billy McNeill and the most decorated player in modern Scottish footballing history. Scott of course led us to a record equalling club record nine in a row, and an unprecedented quadruple treble, his place in our history is more than secure.

Neil of course despite his critics is a club legend, winning 21 honours as player and Manager. The only man in our history to win the treble as a player and manager, that’s legendary status guaranteed, despite some hostility towards him from our own support.

Yes, the way he ended his last spell was disappointing, actually it was a shambles, but his contribution to the club as a whole was superb, and in years to come, it will be appreciated more. Much like Broony his place in our history is secure. Many happy returns to both.

About Author

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.
