Hashtag Lost the Faith as Celtic drag Brother Walfrid into last night’s shambles

The official CELTIC FC twitter account this morning reminded the support that on this day in 1887 a meeting took place to formally constitute Celtic and they highlighted the achievement of 110 major honours in 133 years.

Any other day that would have been fine, but not the morning after the night before. Here’s the Celtic tweet, we’ll give you a flavour of the response below, but surely the social media staff at the club must have seen this coming?

“Announce meeting to execute Lennon’s employment.”

“Another meeting should take place on this day in 2020.”

“Change is needed after recent performances, last night should be the catalyst. Our squad is too good for us to play so badly and disorganised! The ten is at threat if we rest on our laurels.”

“The biggest meeting should be taking place this morning via zoom. Sacked.”

“That football last night wouldn’t put food on any child’s table.”

“Is this what (Gavin) Strachan was googling on his laptop last night.”

“With the current setup 10IAR is gone. It needs change now, unforgivable to lose the league to a club when we have a huge financial advantage. Lawwell’s gambling isn’t working and is costing us dearly. The cheap option just isn’t cutting it and you are taking the fans for a ride.”

“Shockingly bad stuff last night. Forget Europe this year. Anything other than the league is unacceptable and as it currently stands we’re winning nothing. Needs sorting ASAP.”

“Fair enough for the trolling great work. Tweets about our success after arguably the poorest display in Europe.”

“SACK LENNON! THE FANS DEMAND A CAPABLE MANAGER! Humbled vs (the)Rangers the last 3 times, he has zero tactics, no clue, cannot motivate a team, he’s lost the fans and the dressing room GET. HIM. OUT. NOW.”

“This is all good and well but won’t deflect from the fact the manager and his backroom team should be removed by the end of the day.”

“Love my club, love my manager, but it’s not working. Dont care about Europe, the league is the major trophy. But we deserve to put a fight in both competitions to make us proud. Totally lost this morning. If we stick with Neil he has my backing 100% and roll on Sunday.”

“8 years ago we beat Barcelona. Now we couldn’t beat an egg. Lennon’s time was in the past. He isn’t up to it now. Get a new manager pronto.”

“How about a meeting today to sort this shambles out! We asked for the board to not fall asleep at the wheel and the car has ended up 30ft off the road in the most important season of our history. Act now or risk losing STH money next year!”

“Happy birthday Celtic. Please get a manager befitting of this great club.”

“The meeting to formally punt Neil Lennon should take place on this day #lostthefaith.”

And on and on it goes…
