Hatem Elhamed’s Emotional Message to the Celtic Support

Hatem Elhamed put family first to leave Scotland to return home to Israel to be re-united with his wife and young son. The video footage we published last night showed the departing Celtic Star arrive home to be greeted by his wee boy and no-one watching that could come to any other conclusion that the best possible outcome for the Elhamed family had been reached.

The defender this morning posted the following message via his agent Dudu Dahan, to the Celtic support and touches on the understanding of his personal circumstances that have been widely acknowledged by the fans.

“To all Celtic fans. Thank you for the support, understanding and love,” Hatem wrote.

“I will be grateful forever for the privilege of playing for you.”

Celtic agreed to allowing the player to return home after he was left at his Glasgow home on his one when his wife returned to Israel last summer with their son. Elhamed has agreed to re-join his old club, Hapoel Be’er Sheva in a cut-price £800,000 transfer from Celtic.
