Hazard Hails Celtic Trio and Aims to Impress for Dundee

Conor Hazard has hailed the influence of Celtic goalkeeping trio Craig Gordon, Scott Bain and Fraser Forster as he looks to develop into a top player himself. The 21-year-old has joined Dundee on loan for the second time this season as he looks to challenge Jack Hamilton for the number one jersey at Dens Park.

Hazard said, as reported by The Scottish Sun, that the ‘keeping trio at Lennoxtown were helping him develop after taking him under their wing.

“Craig has been very good to me. We are close as well as with Fraser Forster and Scott Bain.

“They are all very good goalies and they always help the younger ones coming through.

“They all said you need to get games and that I’ll learn much more from playing than just training.”

The exposure to Forster and Gordon, who have a combined transfer fee of over £20m, will inevitably improve Hazard at a training level but he needs game time to convince Neil Lennon that he is a potential successor to the No.1 jersey at Celtic in the future.

“Learning from top, top goalies like that is very helpful but I am at the stage now where I need to show people what I can do.

“There is no point in sitting, training with Celtic, making saves but not getting the opportunity to show it to everyone else.

“So I am just delighted to get this opportunity to hopefully go and do that.

“I had a few options to go to different places but I felt this was the right move.

“They were delighted to get me out to hopefully play a few games.

“It’s been frustrating just training every day and not being able to look forward to playing on a Saturday.”

Hopefully Hazard will use the move to Dundee to gain some much needed game time to highlight his skillset to Stevie Woods and Neil Lennon.
